Albert - the GS Police Dog!

Over the last couple of weeks, my lovely wife has been telling me about Albert - the Giant Schnauzer Police dog with the Devon and Cornwall police. She found him via her Facebook page and now keeps an eye on his progress with the police force. I have seen pictures of him and no suprise indeed, he reminds me of Hugo! Also some video's of him too training and he looks the part too. I have never known a Giant Schnauzer to be considered by a police force before, so something I am now watching.

Watching a couple of the video's of Albert especially at the Devon Show is like watching our Hugo bringing tears to my eyes too.

thank you for sharing, I will have a look for a read about Albert. When we got our first girl, Suzi we had heard that Giants were used in America / Canada as my husband had seen it on TV years ago.

Another update on 'Albert'. He has officially passed out as 'Police Dog (PD) Albert' yesterday and today Albert goes to his new owner John in Plymouth to start his 'officially duties'. So begins a new chapter in Albert's life and one that we thankfully still be able to follow (https://twitter.com/_GS_Albert). As far as it is known, Albert is the only Giant Schnauzer in any police force in the UK and therefore may attract some media attention.

In the meantime, the trainer of 'Albert' has now decided to get another Giant Schanuzer to train as a Police Dog, his name is 'Bert' and if reports are correct, he collected him today! So start of another chapter and watch this boy grow up.
