Standard moved to Cornwall!

Grooming is an important part of looking after your Schnauzer. Regular grooming will help keep your Schnauzer healthy and comfortable and you will spot potential problems early. Whether you decide to clip or strip your Schnauzer, help is on hand. Schnauzers are generally a non-shedding breed and will require a fair amount of grooming to get rid of dead hair.

Standard moved to Cornwall!

Post by lynnmack »

Hi there

I was wondering if anyone knows of a groomer who lives in West Cornwall please (we have just moved to Penzance).

I found one but they will only do Mini's and I have a Standard. They could not recommend anyone else.

Really reluctant to take her to a general groomer who is not recommended as have seen too many odd looking schnauzers - due to bad cuts!!

Many thanks :)

Hi Lynn - it could be worth contacting the Schnauzer Club GB
There is a link here to Club members who offer grooming in Cornwall on their website:

https://www.schnauzerclub.co.uk/findagroomer.php#

Even if these cannot help, they may be able to offer some suggestions of others who may help. With schnauzer grooming generally for all 3 sizes it can often work out easier to do the grooming yourself - breeders will usually assist their puppy families with the basics at least or you can work from online resources. As you say, general groomers rarely have any idea how to correctly groom a schnauzer unfortunately.

Lynnmack, A bit late to the party, try Lew's grooming studio in Pool. He's excellent, will clip or strip as required. https://lews.dog/
