Help on how to find a White Mini Puppy?

The Miniature Schnauzer is a smallest dog in the Schnauzer breed and originated in the mid-to-late 19th Century from Germany. The Miniature Schnauzer is a cross between the Standard Schnauzer and other smaller breeds such as the Poodle. A miniature Schnauzer is a spunky, but aloof dog who does things their own way. They tend to be good guard dogs without the tendency to bite.

Help on how to find a White Mini Puppy?

Post by Debbyd00dah- »

Hello, My partner and I have decided that we would like to start our search for a White Mini puppy but, although we have lists of recommended breeders, none of them actually state whether they breed white puppies specifically. Are we going to be obliged to contact every breeder to ascertain this or does anyone have any ideas on how we can advance our search? Thank you for any help.

If you are in the U.K. you could try contacting the Secretaries of the schnauzer breed clubs as they may be able to tell you which breeders within the Club do breed white minis. I have put links to three of the schnauzer clubs in the U.K. and you should be able to find the contact details of the Secretary of each in the ‘Officers and Committee’ list. There is useful guidance on health issues and buying a puppy on the websites too.

However, the colour white has not been recognised as a breed standard colouring by the U.K. Kennel Club for miniature schnauzers until relatively recently and there are very few good breeders who do breed this colouring so you may have a longer wait if colour is a priority. You don’t want to sacrifice other significant factors such as health testing and the quality of the rearing of the puppies just to get a white mini but, if you have set your heart on that colour just be ready to wait and to travel in order to find the best breeder for your next puppy :)

Have a look on Champdogs.co.uk some of the breeders specifically say they breed white. There is a litter of whites on there at the minute (Jaspers nephews and nieces) but they may already be spoken for.

Thank you both for your suggestions. Not necessarily in a hurry to find the right puppy, so will look into this further.
