We are just back from three weeks in Australia and received a very warm (and noisy) welcome from the dogs. We normally leave them with a lady in London who is a real dog person and is very kind to them but she had to cancel at the last minute as her garden was mud after the recent flooding. I contacted a couple of companies who do home boarding but they all seem to have a two dog limit.
I then contacted some house/pet sitting companies who will look after your pets in your own home and settled on one called "Minders Keepers". http://www.minders-keepers.co.uk/ The company is insured and the sitters are police checked. They send a prospective sitter for an initial interview at our expense (£45 for petrol in our case) so that we can meet him and he can meet the dogs. It all went well so we put together some very detailed instructions with vet. details and feeding etc. and the sitter arrived back the day before we left.
All up we paid in excess of £1000 but we were quite happy as the dogs could stay in their own environment which is very beneficial for Mouse who is blind. I can recommend the company and would happily use them again.

Re: Dog sitting
Glad it worked out for you I am sure it was much better for all of them to stay at home but especially Mouse ;)
Would the cost have been the same if it was one dog?
My two do home boarding with their dog walker if I have to go away and that would have cost me £840 for three weeks so the price looks comparable anyway.

Re: Dog sitting
The cost depends on the number of dogs but I'm not sure what the difference is as I was only interested in having the three sat.Maty wrote:Would the cost have been the same if it was one dog?

Re: Dog sitting
I am a dog minder, insured, licensed and Crb checked. My fee is £15 per night per dog all inclusive unless very expensive specialised food. My mini is also blind so i have had to scale down my business to suite. Bosun still loves his mates coming to stay. 3 dogs max from the same family but I choose to only take 2.
